A local police officer and several motorcycle enthusiasts are hosting the 2nd Annual Officer Down Memorial Ride on Saturday, April 27th, 2013 to raise funds and awareness for the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP), a non-profit that honors the memories of law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty. The Ride will begin and end at the Lion and Bull Restaurant, Bar and Grill, in Haymarket. Check in is 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. with the first bikes departing at 9:00 a.m. Participation in the Ride is $25, and all proceeds will benefit ODMP. Live music, antique car show, and police motorcycle demonstrations will take place, and non-riders are also encouraged to come enjoy the event. Last year's inaugural Officer Down Memorial Ride well surpassed our wildest expectations, with approximately 300 riders and attendees all there to honor America's fallen law enforcement officers. This year's ride promises to be even bigger and better with a larger music venue and more classic cars to admire while you're hanging out. Many local businesses have joined in to support the fundraiser. Sponsors include the Lion and Bull Restaurant Bar and Grill, Freedom Bail Bonding, Spellbound the band, Bad Luck the band, and others. The sponsors are donating facilities, merchandise, and services. For more information on the ODMP Ride and to register visit www.officerdownmemorialride.com or email hawkins@odmp.org.
